Faster payments

Description

  • March, 2024

For Routable, the faster delivery methods used by clients resulted in higher take rates. We also detected signals that Routable was unsuitable for clients requiring fast payment solutions, such as Same Day ACH or Next Day ACH. These were the two main reasons for embarking on this project.

The main friction occurred due to the limitation we had in using a swifter delivery method. The client first needed to upload funds to the Routable Balance, which took some time. By enabling the client to fund faster payments directly from the bank account, we achieved higher adoption of swifter delivery methods resulting with increased company revenue.

Furthermore, this project has given us the opportunity to make several impactful UX improvements within the user workflow of payment creation, such as smart hint handling and a few UI enhancements.

My Contributions

  • Examination of the qualitative and quantitative insights with the product manager and definition of the problem.
  • Brainstorm with the engineering manager and product manager with delivery of supporting low-fidelity wireframes and flowcharts.
  • Trifecta presentation of the planned sollution to the company leadership.
  • Work on high-fidelity mockups with several design reviews and iterations.
  • Close collaboration with a copywriter and a few engineers from other areas. We were updating delivery speed terminology across the whole product.
  • Final solution presentation to the main stakeholders and the engineering team addressing the project.
  • Support during the building phase to address tweaks and to cover any missing edge cases.
  • After the launch, observation of the new functionality within the session recording tool (FullStory) to monitor adoption and identify potential issues.
